Low-level Roundup residue linked to serious liver disease

Experts have been warning for quite some time about the dangers of glyphosate—the active ingredient in the herbicide Roundup. Glyphosate has been linked to cancer, birth defects, autism, and ADHD. We can now add severe liver damage to the list.

Glyphosate is the most commonly applied herbicide (weedkiller) in the world. The residue is found in many common foods and beverages. Last year, researchers even found childhood vaccines were contaminated with glyphosate.

In a study recently published in the prestigious journal Nature, researchers found that glyphosate can cause non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), even when given in almost “homeopathic” doses. They found that dosages as little as 4 nanograms (4 billionths of a gram) per kilogram can cause structural and functional damage to the liver, including scarring. dead tissue, accumulation of excess fat in liver cells, and damage to mitochondria. Such low levels of exposure are 437,000 times below the levels that are legally permitted in tap water in the United States!

The incidence of NAFLD is high. Currently, 90 million Americans are affected, and that number is likely to grow. Researchers believe that NAFLD is poised to become the next global epidemic. Along with it, we will likely see a further rise in diseases associated with NAFLD, namely obesity, hypertension, and diabetes. NAFLD can progress to liver cirrhosis, liver cancer, and liver failure.

Comments: To help protect you and those you love from the harmful effects of glyphosate, I urge you to strive to eat a 100% organic diet. Further, be sure to consult with a doctor trained in nutritional medicine to learn about the proper supplements and dosages that can boost liver health.
