Roundup found in 80% of US urine samples

According to a recent report by the CDC (click here), 80% of urine samples in the US are tainted with glyphosate—the active ingredient in the herbicide Roundup. The prevalence and amount found in human urine have been steadily rising since the 1990s when Monsanto introduced genetically engineered crops designed to be sprayed with Roundup. Exposure to glyphosate has been linked to cancer, liver and kidney damage, autoimmunity, reproductive issues, gut dysbiosis, and neurodegenerative diseases.

Glyphosate cannot be removed through washing or cooking, so to avoid it, eat only organic food. Under federal law, glyphosate is never permitted in organic production. A new study found levels of glyphosate and its breakdown products were reduced by more than 70% after just six days of eating organic (click here). Furthermore, fermented foods such as organic apple cider vinegar, sauerkraut, kimchi, and kombucha contain a microbe called acetobacter which can break down glyphosate in the gut (click here).
