America’s #1 Killer is changing

Cancer has now surpassed heart disease as the leading cause of death in nearly half of the states in America. In 2014, cancer was the top cause of death in 22 states, including many in the West and Northeast. That’s a huge increase from the year 2000 when cancer was the leading cause of death in just two states. In the rest of the 28 states, heart disease remained the leading cause of death. In the American population as a whole, deaths from heart disease still outnumber deaths from cancer, but that is quickly changing.

There were 614,348 people who died from heart disease in 2014, compared to 591,699 who died from cancer. Deaths from cancer have nearly caught up with deaths from heart disease over the last several decades in the United States. That’s because deaths from heart disease have been declining while deaths from cancer have continued to increase. The most disturbing statistic of all is that the incidence of cancer in children has skyrocketed 40% in the last 16 years (click here).

Regarding the treatment of cancer, the statistics are not good. Of the 1,658,370 people newly diagnosed with cancer last year, 589,430 of them have already died. Conventional treatment (chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery) can be effective for some early-stage cancers, but sadly, very little progress has been made in the treatment of advanced-stage cancers in the past twenty years.

Important comments from Dr. Thomas: Cancer is a major health problem that can destroy human lives. Nearly half of all Americans can expect to get a diagnosis of cancer in their lifetime. This is one of the most terrifying and stressful events a person can ever experience. On the positive side, cancer can be a “wake-up call” with the opportunity to turn your life around.

Regarding conventional treatment, side effects notwithstanding, even though chemotherapy can shrink tumors, there is little proof that this actually improves overall survival (extends life) in advanced cancer. Bottom line, controlling the tumor does not ensure living longer. This is because the underlying physiology of the patient has not been corrected. Cancer is a systemic disease and the tumor is merely a symptom. To fight cancer with the intention of winning, you must know the enemy, and that enemy is defective metabolism.

Cancer has been found to be a metabolic disease, and it requires metabolic solutions to properly treat and prevent it (click here and here). Physicians with expertise in metabolic and nutritional medicine can offer such solutions. Using nutritional manipulation, cancer cells are first weakened by putting them into metabolic stress by depleting their two main fuel sources: glucose and glutamine. Then, using powerful yet nontoxic, pro-oxidative intravenous therapy, the weakened cells are pushed over the edge and killed, all while sparing healthy cells. After that, attention is turned to preventing recurrence of cancer by combating the underlying metabolic derangements that lead to cancer in the first place. This final step is crucial to maintaining your health and longevity.

Can you imagine coming out of chemotherapy feeling better than when you came in? Of course not! Now imagine a clinic where there is no need for buckets in which to vomit; no patients with hair-loss and lifeless expressions; no burns from radiation treatment; and no patients declaring bankruptcy after struggling to pay for cancer drugs that typically cost over $100,000 nowadays and have little benefit in terms of survival. Imagine a clinic where cancer patients go to reverse their defective metabolism and, in a powerful yet non-toxic manner, kill diseased cells. When the nature of cancer is framed as a metabolic disease, the entire prevention and treatment paradigm is turned upside down.
