40% of all cancers linked to excess weight

Forty percent of all cancers in the United States have been found to be associated with excess weight. In a nation where over 70% of adults are now overweight or obese, this is a cause for great concern. Women are especially susceptible, with 55% of all cancers related to extra weight, compared to 24% of all cancer related to extra weight in men.

Particularly concerning are the young adults. The Millennials (ages 18-35) are the fattest generation ever. In addition to alcohol, their love of “convenient” fast-food restaurants has lead to an overconsumption of high-calorie, nutrient-poor food. As a result, many Millennials will develop the diseases of aging much earlier in life and a lot of them will die before their parents.

Comments: Getting to and keeping a healthy weight is paramount in cancer prevention! This requires eating properly and exercising. Sadly, most people spend more time sitting on the toilet each week than eating properly or exercising.
