A hormone found in higher levels in wealthy people was linked to a longer life, according to research published by scientists from England. They found that the wealthier study participants had higher levels of the hormone dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS). This hormone is produced by the adrenal glands, sex organs and the brain, and is increased by regular exercise, a good diet and companionship. Dr. Michael Marmot, the study’s author, said, “A striking new finding is that the hormone dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate that predicts life expectancy also follows a social gradient: less wealth, lower levels of DHEAS.”
Your DHEAS can be checked by simple blood work. Please contact me for more information.
