Herb shown to improve sexual function in women

According to a recent study, ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) root extract was shown to improve sexual function in women.

The study included 50 women diagnosed with female sexual dysfunction, including hypoactive sexual desire disorder (low sex drive) and orgasmic disorder (inability to orgasm). Twenty-five took 300 mg of ashwagandha twice daily for 8 weeks, and 25 received a placebo for the same amount of time. At the end of the study, the women who took ashwagandha reported improved sexual desire, arousal, lubrication, and orgasm.

Comments: In nearly 30 years of practice, between bioidentical hormone therapy, ashwagandha, and a prescription cream designed to enhance blood flow to the clitoris, I never had a case where I failed to significantly improve sexual function of a female patient. As a result, I have been able to help restore the passion and improve the relationship of countless couples!
