In controlling how long we live, a recent study published in Journal of Internal Medicine showed that our lifestyle choices have more influence than our genes. According to the study’s author, Dr. Lars Wilhelmsen, “Our study shows that hereditary factors don’t play a major role and that lifestyle has the biggest impact.” Dr. Wilhelmsen further states, “The study shows that we can influence several of the factors that decide how old we get.” This is good news, and proves that working hard to stay healthy really does work!
